The Kannada movie Kirik Party was a super hit when it was released in 2016 and won the hearts of many. Based in Bengaluru, the film starred Rashmika Mandanna and Samyukta Hegde in the lead roles, with Rakshit Shetty as the hero. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the movie was already complete and ready for release when an interesting twist occurred.
The makers of the film, Jayanna Films, had watched the movie and suggested an idea to the team. Everyone on the team loved the idea. They faced a challenge: the movie was already finished and almost ready for release. Rishab Shetty and Rakshit Shetty discussed how they could incorporate this new idea.
In the movie Kirik Party, there is a character from North Karnataka. The unique thing about this character is that it never appears on screen. The character’s voice is heard, but the person is never seen. This was the suggestion from Jayanna Films’ end and it fit perfectly into the film.
The character was created after the suggestion. Although the character doesn’t appear visibly, it plays an important role in the movie. The dialogue and scenes were adjusted to include this new element, even though the shooting was almost complete.
One particular scene in Kirik Party features this unseen character. The scene takes place in a college, where Rakshit and other characters are present. In this scene, the voice of the North Karnataka character is heard saying the dialogue, “Nandu Klas Aitale” (Today is the class). The character is briefly shown passing by, creating a memorable moment in the movie.
Rishab Shetty recently shared this behind-the-scenes story while promoting his upcoming movie Laughing Buddha. He fondly recalled how the North Karnataka character was added to the Kirik Party and how it became a special part of the film.
Exciting news for fans is that Kirik Party Part 2 has been announced. The makers are planning to start production, but the exact timing is still unknown. With this announcement, there is growing curiosity and anticipation for the sequel to this beloved movie.
