Nam Yoon-Su Is 'Recovering Well' After Donating Kidney To His Father

South Korean actor Nam Yoon-su is gaining attention for a remarkable act of kindness. On June 19, the Soulmate star underwent a successful surgery to donate one of his kidneys to his father. Both Nam Yoon-su and his father are now recovering and have been discharged from the hospital since the operation. Earlier this year, the actor had paused all his professional activities to ensure his health was in the right condition for the surgery. Initially keeping the donation private, Nam Yoon-su decided to share his story after discussions with the hospital, aiming to raise awareness about organ donation and inspire others to consider doing the same.

Nam Yoon-su’s agency, Garten in a statement, told Daily Sports, “Nam Yoon-soo received surgery to donate a kidney to his father on June 19th. Both Nam Yoon-soo and his father have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from the hospital in a conversation with Daily Sports shared, “Nam Yoon-soo’s bright smile and deep consideration for his family, which always showed a bright and positive attitude, may have brought about good results. We pray that he will grow into a wonderful star who will exert a positive influence on our society in the future.”

According to reports, Nam Yoon-su’s agency further added that the actor willingly chose to donate a kidney to his father. The hospital staff showered the actor with admiration for his positive attitude and showing concern for his family. The management hopes that Yoon-su continues to influence others. Now that he is in good health, Nam Yoon-su is looking forward to working on his next project.

Meanwhile, Nam Yoon-su has several exciting projects ahead. He is set to appear in the upcoming movie Love in the Big City, alongside Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun. The movie is scheduled to be released later this year. Based on the book of the same name, the story follows a young gay man in Korea who forms a close friendship with another student.
