Paramakudi police firing case goes to CBI

MADURAI: The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday directed the State government to hand over the probe into the Paramakudi firing to the Joint Director, CBI, in Chennai within 10 days.    The judges, in their order, noted that even if the local police conducted a fair probe, it would lack credibility in view of the allegations levelled against the State police and hence, ordered transfer of investigation to the CBI. A division bench comprising Justice K N Basha and Justice M Venugopal also directed the State government to cooperate with the CBI for a fair and an effective probe.
