CHENNAI: The operation of the interim order passed last month by the High Court, by which TANGEDCO and other authorities had been restrained from preventing about 150 high tension (HT) consuming units in the State from purchasing power from third parties, was extended till March 16.Justice K Venkataraman ordered the extension when the writ pleas from the firms came up again, on Friday. He said the stay would stand continued subject to certain conditions. The petitioner firms should not consume more power than what they bought from third party sources. The judge directed the authorities to file their counters by March 15 and posted the matter to March 16.
