Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of Boney Kapoor and the late actress Sridevi Kapoor, recently made her big film debut with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies.’ The film garnered warm reviews from viewers, with many youngsters praising Khushi’s performance. She portrayed the role of Betty with much-needed innocence.
The actress, who has yet to embark fully on her film career, recently spoke about her mom’s legacy. In an interview with Grazia, the young debutant also mentioned that one thing that really ‘mesmerized’ her. “I think my mother always carried herself with so much poise and elegance, and she would just stand tall. When she’d enter a room, you would just know she’d arrived. And I think that’s something that I was just mesmerized by.”
She added, “Hopefully that’s something I can learn how to do at least a little bit—just to carry myself a little better and hold my head up a little higher because I do tend to be a bit shy and more to myself and guarded at times.”
When asked about her shooting days for The Archies, Khushi shared, “When we started out, none of us knew anything, and we were all so fresh. Even though I have been on sets when visiting my mother or my sister, being on set for my own film was a completely different experience. From the first day of shoot to the last day, I felt like I had so much more knowledge about small, minute details that I wasn’t aware of earlier. There are so many technicalities that you pick up while filming that are so innate to the process.”
Coming back to The Archies, the film also marked the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
The film is currently streaming on Netflix. It was released on December 7. The film is an Indian adaptation of the American comic book series centered in the fictional town of Riverdale. It brings the characters of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Reggie, Dilton, Jughead, and Big Ethel to life in a 1960s hill town.
